Both layered and striped, these batts should spin up as a subtly changing yarn. I've used Merino, Polwarth and Corriedale wools so this is next-to-the-skin soft. I was inspired by the dozen free-range eggs I usually pick up as part of my CSA share, and included the soft green to reflect eggs from the Araucana chicken. Each batt weighs 1.7 ounces (48 g)--I can spin about 150 yards of DK weight yarn from that amount.

My fiber comes from a smoke-free home with a cat in residence. While he does not sleep on or near my fiber, his hairs DO manage to drift into the strangest places.Arac
