Clutch purse in black and natural leaf design with clear vinyl zippered pouch insert could be used as a wallet or for cosmetics, as well as an evening bag.

Born in the snow, in below zero cold. Freezing bleach creates beautiful shapes on fabric. This piece looked like leaves floating in a frigid wind on a dark winter night. Tiny pinpoints of white add sparkle like distant stars.

I did minimal machine quilting as I did not want to distract from the beautiful flow of grays. Slightly asymmetrical clutch (or wallet) surprises with a luscious crinkled tea green lining. Leaf point embellishments in front seam are also lined with the soft green. Top stitching around opening was done by hand.

Shirred closing strap wraps completely to loop over a vintage button. After closing, you could even slip this onto your arm if you needed your hand free to use but wanted to keep your clutch secure.

Totally unique and one of a kind.

This is one of a few pieces of fabric that I literally ripped, dipped in or sprayed with bleach and threw into the snow. I utilized a long straggling piece as a base for the strap so it is somewhat integral to the clutch and very secure. I often use a challenge to influence my design. (But I probably thought at the time that I would just cut it off!) In the end, I did not like the fabric strips as twisted or braided (as I am usually quite fond of !) on this clutch so I added the shirred cover and it seemed to be just right.

It troubled me that the contents were not secure enough. Adding a zipper at this point was a task I did not want. So I made for you a whole separate clear vinyl zippered pouch to hold anything that could escape. So - easy to use in another bag!

This creation has not been washed and dried since construction. I usually do and it can certainly be washed and machine dried. I would put it inside a lingerie bag or pillow case and/or turn inside out to help preserve the darkest black. Lining is polyester so, no worry there. If I decide to wash and dry to bring on that lovely puckery quality achievable with cotton batting, I will most likely have to take new photos! It looks so nice as it is, I decided to leave it this way for you, at least for now. If you do wash and dry, the leaf point embellishments would probably need a light pressing, or smooth out before totally dry.

Anti-Chlor was used to remove potential for bleach deterioration.
