I began my Sugar Skull cross stitch series in 2010 after visiting The National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, Illinois. Día de los Muertes, or Day of the Dead, is celebrated on November 2 (All Souls’ Day) each year. I was, and I am, exceptionally inspired by the beautiful brightly decorated sugar skulls & dancing skeletons. Currently my series includes 9 versions. My goal is to merge traditional cross stitch designs with my visions while honoring the richness of Mexican Culture.

This cross stitch is a wall hanging however you can make it a table top piece by using an easel as shown (easel not included). The black oval frame is 10" x 12". The glass opening is 7 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Sugar Skull (version 4) is made to order, please allow two weeks for me to stitch your piece prior to shipping.

Want to make your own??? Patterns available!

Pattern & stitching by me, Kristy Kizzee :)
