Thanks for stopping by. I'm very glad you're here.

A few years ago, opal was discovered in Ethiopia. There seemed to be a lot of it and it was close to the surface and easily mined. The color, transparency and flash of fire in these opals rivaled the best Australia had to offer (and I do love Australian opals). But what seemed like an endless supply of Ethiopian opals (also referred to as Welo opals) has started to become scarcer and more difficult to mine. But they are still exquisite. And I have used them here.

An amazing strand of genuine Ethiopian Welo opals was the muse for the creation of this necklace. Every opal in this piece has translucency and fire.

This necklace was created using the best quality Ethiopian Welo opals with sparkling fire and a creamy translucence along with pure 14k gold beads. The chain is 14K gold filled as is the the lobster clasp. The necklace measures about 16 1/2". Need me to add an extender? No problem. Just let me know in the "notes to seller." This is a one-of-a-kind piece that just exudes elegance.

If you need additional photos, don't hesitate to ask. The opals will change their flash and color depending on the light source. These photos were taken outdoors. The last photo shows how transparent these stones are. Amazing!
