Description

THE COTTAGE in the WOODS
This whimsical and mysterious little cottage was built in 1914 by a Mrs. Shorey in Ballston Lake, New York, as an art studio for her husband. Generations of children have passed by the studio on their way to school, wanting desperately to take a peek inside - but knowing they'd be quickly shooed away if they got too close. ;)

Q: I don't get it, what's a canvas?
A: Image is printed on archival canvas then wrapped around a wood frame – sorta like ½ a present!

Q: Does it stick out from the wall?
A: Yep, about 1/2” or so.

Q: Is it glossy?
A: No way. The canvas is textured with a bit of luster. Nice rich colors.

Q: Will it have colored edges?
A: Oh heck no <shudder>! The full image is on the front, mirrored on the sides. 1.5” deep, wood frame, very cool. Oh, with sweet hanging wire for those of us who usually have to put 5 nail holes in the wall to get it straight.

Q: Is the back open or closed, I have an ugly electrical thing on the wall I want to cover?
A: Smaller sizes are open, larger are closed; but if you need something special just let me know.

Q: Can I hang it in my bathroom?
A: Well, I wouldn't hang it in the SHOWER, but otherwise sure!

Q: Can I buy the digital file?
A: Can't hang a file on the wall, so nope. Unless it's for a commercial project, then let's talk.

Q: I need it for my anniversary this weekend – will it be here?
A: Take your spouse out for a fancy dinner and let them know their *real* gift is on the way. They take about 3 days to make, 3-5 days to ship.

Q: Can I get a print instead?
A: Whatever you need. Prints, matted prints, framed, and wood are all in my shop.

Q: Is it vertical or horizontal?
A: Have a look-see at the image up top: If it's wider than it is tall, it's horizontal. Taller than it is wide, it's vertical. There are also some squares thrown in here and there.

Q: Can you make it vertical?
A: Maybe. If there aren't any words, 80.637% yes. Otherwise, 99.9% no. But ask to be sure.

Q: Did you photograph this?
A: Sure did. With my big fancy cameras and way too many lenses.

Q: What size is the image in your sample picture?
A: I'm asked this a lot! You should always pick a size based on your rooms and walls. Still not sure? Send me the dimensions and I'm happy to help out.

Q: I need two, do you have anything that will go with this?
A: Absolutely.

Q: Can you add some text?
A: Names, sure. Short quotes, maybe. 25 line Shakespeare soliloquy, definitely not.

Q: I have a really weird space to fill?
A: Let me know what size you need and we'll see what we can do.

Q: I live in Australia/England/Thailand/Germany/etc. will you ship to me?
A: Sorry, no. Unfortunately international shipping for heavy stuff costs more than the heavy stuff itself. I can ship you a print though!

Q: This doesn't match my kitchen after all, can I get something else?
Q: This 8x10 is really small, can I get a 16x20 instead?
A: Yup, I want you to be 100% happy. Everything is custom made to order, though, so if you're not sure how it'll look, please send me a picture of your wall and I'll show you.

Q: Can I copy you?
A: Please don't. © All images photographed & edited by Lisa Russo Fine Art Photography, LLC. Do not copy or reuse without written release.

Shipping policies

Prints ship in 2-3 business days unless otherwise noted. Canvas Wraps ship in 3-4 business days and wood signs ship in 2-3 weeks. Please check my shop announcement for any changes in shipping times due to holidays or vacations.

Most items ship via USPS or FedEx to the shipping address indicated at checkout.

International Orders: Please allow up to 6 weeks for your item to arrive (but hopefully much sooner!). The tracking number I send will follow your package until it leaves the US, but then it's in the hands of your country's postal system. If you haven't received your order in 6 weeks, please check that your local postal office isn't holding your package hostage for customs and/or duty fees.

Speaking of those...they aren't included in the shipping charges, so if any are assessed, you are responsible for them.
