If you already have a 3V LED light, and you need a power source, you can use this battery holder, switch and 3V battery.

PLEASE NOTE:
- This item is a battery holder, switch and battery. It does NOT include the LED light. An LED light (without a battery holder, switch and battery) is available as a separate listing. https://www.etsy.com/shop/true2scale?ref=hdr_shop_menu&section_id=10232605

- A complete set (battery holder, switch and battery + LED light) is available as a separate listing. https://www.etsy.com/listing/78996400/tiny-led-light-set-for-miniature?ref=shop_home_feat_1

** You may wire up to 10 3V LEDs to the switch and battery. ** LEDs are available: https://www.etsy.com/shop/true2scale?ref=hdr_shop_menu&section_id=10232605

An LED wiring tutorial is available on our website: http://www.true2scale.com/led-lighting-tutorial/

The white switch allows you to easily turn off the lights without disconnecting the battery. The battery can run up to 10 LED lights for about 12 hours. 3 lights will light for about 40 hours. The battery is changeable.

The wires of the battery holder and switch unit are 4 inches/10cm long. The battery holder is 15/16" (24mm) at the widest area. Length: 3/4" (19mm) Depth 7/32" (5.5mm).

WHY USE LEDS?
- LEDs are much more efficient than incandescent bulbs.

- They don't become hot (perfect in places where the lights will be dangerously close to flammable and/or fragile items).

- They last a LONG time - 10 years/10,000 hours. It's very unlikely that you will have to tear apart your project to replace an LED.

- They provide a lot of light. In fact, sometimes they are brighter than is needed for our miniature projects. Thankfully there are ways to cut down the amount of light (discussed in the LED lighting tutorial: http://www.true2scale.com/led-lighting-tutorial/ )

- They are tougher to break than an incandescent bulb because there isn't a filament.

HOW ARE THE LEDS POWERED?
All of our 3 Volt LEDs are operated by a 3 Volt battery and switch unit (included in this kit). The battery holder and switch is easy to hide in a diorama.

HOW DO THE LEDS HOOK UP TO A BATTERY?
We've written a step-by-step tutorial: FREE LED wiring tutorial: http://www.true2scale.com/led-lighting-tutorial/

IS THERE A NEED TO SOLDER?
No. There is no need for soldering the wires. A tight connection is created by using the shrink tubes which are included in the battery holder and switch unit.

HOW LONG ARE THE WIRES OF THE LEDS?
The wires are 8 inches (20cm) long. The wires on the battery holder and switch unit are 4 inches (10cm) long. If you require a longer length for your project, wired connectors are available.

HOW MANY LEDS CAN BE HOOKED UP TO ONE BATTERY?
We recommend using 1-10 CHIPS on a 3V battery. 10 CHIPS will run for about 12 hours. 3 CHIPS will run on a single battery for about 40 hours. Keep in mind that when working with dollhouse miniatures, we recommend using these systems to light smaller scale rooms or dollhouses (half 1:24 scale, quarter 1:48 scale, and microscale 1:144). They also work well for lighting small areas in 1" 1:12 scale dollhouses (china cabinets, under cabinet lighting, Christmas trees, fireplaces, glitter houses, etc.) We do not recommend using these to light an entire 1:12 scale dollhouse. To help you decide the quantity and size of the LEDs for your project, please see the tips above.

WHERE DO I FIND THE BATTERIES? MAY REPLACEMENT BATTERIES BE PURCHASED?
A battery is included with the battery holder and switch unit.
The replaceable battery is a common size which is available from drug/convenience stores.
