We were first inspired to make these for a friend who moved into a New York apartment and found herself with a huge bug problem. I thought it couldn't hurt to at least try to work with the spider energies to help her out. She says it worked, and then she moved;)

This one has a huge pumpkin coloured antique German cut glass crystal as the abdomen, which really makes her stand out.
Simply gorgeous but would give one quite a start if you happened upon her hanging from a tree.
She's beautiful in a scary sort of way;)

Her measurements are;
9 inches long leg tip to leg tip and hangs from a nine inch chain.

These are very durable hand-crafted studio exclusives. The nuggets are foiled and soldered in Tiffany stained glass technique, then the legs are attatched during the soldering process and carefully bent to shape and trimmed. Crafted in extra strong 16 guage wire. They are then handpainted, and strung with beads and heavy jewelers wire, double crimped or hung from chain.

They can also be used to decorate your yard. They look amazing in trees. Makes a lovely housewarming gift too.

I only have three left and we don't plan to make anymore, but would consider a custom request.
This Summer Green Papa measures 10 inches long, he hangs on a nicely strung 7 1/2 inches strand of vintage beads.

Comes with it's own studio card signed by the artists.

Mythology and the powerful symbology
of spiders is "woven" throughout history.
We have always admired and enjoyed spiders,
and tend to quite happily keep the harmless ones in
our house. These unusual pieces of glasswork
celebrate the Spider and her web and we've
named them all Arachne after the Greek mythology.

Arachne was a skilled weaver who boasted that she was more skillful
than Athena, the goddess of arts and crafts. She challenged Athena
to a weaving contest and Athena accepted. Arachne wove a beautiful
tapestry that depicted the antics of the gods and goddesses.
This angered Athena and Arachne, terrified of Athena’s wrath,
attempted to hang herself. Athena took pity on Arachne
and turned her into a spider and so that her weaving skills
would survive in the spinning of delicate webs forever.
