An incredible find: extremely rare LaVetta couture silk print kimono-style scarf dress! This dress eventually made its way to the centerfold of the 1975 Neiman Marcus catalog, but this example is an earlier version of the dress from the early 70s. A 1979 issue of Ebony magazine quotes the designer LaVetta as saying, "'We're known for the dramatic, drop-dead entrance. When you want to walk in and have everybody turn around and say, "Wow! Where did she come from?" Then you buy a LaVetta dress." In the 70s, this dress cost several thousand dollars; in general, LaVetta's dresses cost $3000-$6000. That's around $10,000-$15,000 by today's conversion. There was NO pattern for this dress, it was completely hand-done by each seamstress. This incredible creation is NOT to be missed. Fabulous vintage 60s-70s silk maxi dress features an ornate patchwork of Japanese print silk scarves!

Features:

Glamorous silk in multi-colored Japanese scarf patchwork print, lined in nylon
Super flared skirt
Empire waist
Kimono sleeve
V-neck
Chevron waistband
Luxurious and exotic!
