This gorgeous triple-stranded necklace is signed Marvella. Marvella is the trademark used by the Weinrich Bros. Co., which was founded in Philadelphia around 1911. In 1950, the name was changed to Marvella Pearls, Inc. and then changed to Marvella, Inc. around 1965. The post World War II jewelry consists primarily of simulated pearls, plain and faceted beads, and aurora borealis crystals of the highest quality. Marvella was purchased by Trifari in 1982.

I've mentioned before that if I want to find necklaces that have particularly rare crystals, I search with "Marvella" or "Laguna". This vintage Marvella necklace does indeed have particularly rare crystals. These vintage round faceted Czech crystals are a stunning light emerald color. I found identical loose beads on eBay once, and then made it a mission to find more of them :-). Several years later, I found this necklace. The highly unusual color is just amazing, and the 10 mm light emerald crystals are in perfect condition. The shortest strand of the necklace, including the hook, is 14 1/2 inches long, and the necklace has a 2-inch extender.

I am new to Etsy, but I have sold my handmade jewelry, vintage beads, and vintage jewelry on eBay for over ten years. On eBay I have over 6000 feedbacks, 100% of which are positive. If you read my Etsy profile, you will find that I have spent a significant part of my life searching the world for the very finest vintage beads and vintage jewelry. My specialty is beaded costume jewelry, which is a very difficult genre to collect. It’s hard to find jewelry in which every bead in the set is in good condition. In addition, one has to know the background of every type of bead imaginable. As an MIT professor who studies the brain, I know how to move into a new field and learn everything that I can about it, and that is what I have done in the field of vintage beads and jewelry. When I am not dreaming up experiments, I’m researching the background of the many treasures that I have collected. My collection of treasures allows me to offer three categories of items: my artisan jewelry that incorporates vintage crystal, glass, and Lucite beads; vintage necklaces, jewelry sets, and brooches; and (soon to come) vintage beads and findings.
