Imperial Topaz is the rarest existing topaz variety. It is mainly found in the Ouro Preto mines of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The colors can range from champagne, to peach, to golden, to pink and sherry. I had bought this natural gemstone and decided to create a setting that brings out it's regal appearance. This vivid topaz crsytal is in it's natural growth form and weighs 7ct. It reminded me of a flame, so I decided to set it in a sterling silver bezel which I oxidized to achieve a nice contrast. It rests on a 10k yellow gold shank that picks up on the pinkish, orange tones present in the stone.
Size 7 or 55 or 17.5 (can be sized)
