Crazy Mix-Em-ups Cuckoobatts are fluffy drumcarded spinning\/felting batts with a cuckoobird mix of fibers and colors. They're made by carding, blending, and recarding several lots of individual batts to make each batch. The ones in this batch are at least 2 ounces.

MERMAID is a rich, irregular blend of darker greens and blues. Unfortunately, my camera wouldn't capture the depth of color in these batt. It's much richer and more varied than show. MERMAID is mostly wool, with some mohair, silk, nylon, a few yarn bits and the odd strand of sparkle. Each batt is slightly different, but all contain the same base component batts in the same proportions, so multiples will spin or felt together well in a single project.

If you've never spun from a batt, you can tear it into strips (and pre-draft them if you wish), draft the whole thing repeatedly until you have one long strip of roving, or (my favorite), spin directly from the whole batt, letting the fibers get drawn in randomly. Batts are lofty and draft effortlessly, so they're easy peasy lemon squeezy. If you're a beginning spinner, struggling with dense, heavy yarn spun from wool top, you will be well pleased with your lofty batt-spun yarny goodness.

- dyed wool and mohair
- metallic and\/or nylon sparkle
- dyed silk
- nylon
- perhaps some random threads or bits of yarn
