Saint Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland and one of the most known Catholic saints in the secular world. He is responsible for bringing Christianity to Ireland and converting thousands of people from the religious domination of the Druids. There are miraculous tales of him defeating demons from Ireland and driving out paganism through his humility and prayer. As a teenager, he was kidnapped from his homeland and was a shepherd slave to a druid master. Eventually he was able to return to Ireland and answer God's call to become a priest and evangelize to the people of Ireland, whom he loved so much. He is said to have turned down worldly riches, was captured many times, retreated to nature and slept on the rocks, and is often considered an honorary martyr because of all he suffered for his faith throughout his long life. He prayed for God's light to shine on Ireland forever, and for the blessings and mercy of God to remain there. Fifteen hundred years later, the world still loves and remembers this extraordinary saint.
