This is a delicious and soothing blend of Indian green tea and Tulsi, also known as holy basil. The sweet, spicy and floral notes of the basil overlay the mellow astringency of green tea to produce an unexpectedly calming result. A few sharp notes - almost peppery - will be felt at the start, but it rounds off to an undertone of fresh straw that fuses nicely with the rest.
Tulsi is a variety of basil found in India. It is spicier than the Mediterranean kind and it is not normally used for cooking. The locals consider the plant sacred with tremendous healing powers. Scientific studies have indicated that Tulsi is not only very rich in anti-oxidants but has properties that could help in reduction of blood glucose levels and cholesterol.
Three varietals of Tulsi have been used in this blend.
BREWING INSTRUCTIONS: Pour freshly boiled water into a cup with a tea bag. Steep for 3-5 minutes before drinking.
TO MAKE A QUART OF ICE TEA: Throw at least eight tea bags into a mid-sized vessel. Pour 2 cups of boiling water into it. Cover and add sweetener if desired. Infuse for 25 minutes. Remove the bags and add 2 cups of cold water. Refrigerate. Pour over ice to serve.
TEA BAGS: The tea bags that I use come without any dioxins or glue. And to save on earthly resources come with no string attached! Just pluck the bag off with a spoon or a stirrer after you’ve finished steeping. Easy.
For packaging I use heat sealed foil pouches. This preserves the flavor of the tea longer. The pouch also has resealable ziplock for your convenience.
The goodness in your bag includes all ORGANIC INGREDIENTS:
