I turned the barrel of the pen from a small piece of spalted hackberry. Hackberry is a very interesting wood to turn, but this sample is even more unique. It has undergone a natural process called “spalting” that has resulted in dramatic coloration. Spalting is the result of wood naturally rotting and decaying. The wood was dried and stabilized with resin, which stopped the spalting process before it was turned into this beautiful pen. This pen includes titanium accents in the hardware, which is the most durable plating that is offered on our pens.

This Waseca style pen features a large diameter and heavy weight, making it feel comfortable and elegant when writing. This pen features a smooth action twist mechanism and black titanium and chrome accents. Gold, platinum and satin accents are available but not listed at this time, convo me if you are interested in different accents. This elegantly styled pen is well balanced and writes with ease. It uses a "parker" style refill that is replaceable. Rollerball and gel refills are also available. This pen comes with care instructions, instructions on replacing the refill, a protective sleeve and cardboard gift box. Wooden gift boxes are available for an additional cost.
