Do you love? We love! Leigh Potter's 'Green Wheat' Art Deco dinnerware--J. Palin Thorley's creamy beige 'Umbertone' pottery formed into Gale Turnbull's 'Ultra' shaped modernistic square plates with notched zigguraut corners, trimmed in rich, silvery platinum.

PLEASE NOTE: This listing is reserved for JerryB*** (only). To purchase your own Leigh Green Wheat dinnerware, please contact us.

The unique thing about Umbertone is that it derives its rich tan color from the clay body itself (as opposed to being covered in a beige glaze). That they then decorated it with Turnbull's late 1920's design of delicate, stylized Art Moderne wheat stalks in a pale green, off-center and reaching for the skies, is just pure gravy. Or frosting. Or just really slammin’ Dust Bowl Prairie glam!

Please Note: We actively collect this pattern and always have more pieces, some not yet listed - please inquire if interested, and see our Vintage Dinnerware China, Porcelain, Glass, Retro Plastique section for more fantastic dinnerware pieces from the Belle Epoque to Art Deco through Mid Century eras:

This Listing consists of the following:

~ 30-Piece Dinnerware Set for 6: $375
* Dinner Plates 9 3/8” square [23.8cm]
* Salad Plates 8.25" square [21cm]
* Dessert Plates 7.25" square [18.4cm]
* Bread Plates 6” square [15.25cm]
* Berry Bowls 4.75” wide by 1 3/8” high [12.1cm x 3.5cm]

Condition varies from excellent-to-fair vintage condition - most pieces have general crazing overall; some pieces will have light wear to the wheat decals and/or platinum trim. Cracks and chips are scarce, but there are a couple of hairlines and several pieces with tiny chips or roughness on the underside of some of the plate's notched corners. I'll buff them down to a smoothness before shipping.

~ Set of 2 Cups & Saucers in the square 'Ultra' shape @ $38ea = $76
* Teacups: 2 3/8” high [6cm]
* Saucers: 5 5/8” across [14.3cm]

In excellent vintage condition – very light crazing (crackling of the clear overglaze) and there are often tiny nicks on the underside of the saucer's jagged corners.

~ Set of 6 Cups & Saucers in the round 'Ultra Moderne' shape @ $30ea = $180
* Teacups: about 2.5” high [6.35cm]
* Saucers: 5.75” diameter [13.65cm]

In excellent vintage condition – very light crazing (crackling of the clear overglaze), and occasional spots of light wear to the platinum on the handles, probably from stacking the cups.

~ Teapot, square Ultra shape: $185

In very good vintage condition - overall crazing & light wear to platinum, with some discoloration from use. Lid has a small buffed chip on its underside (barely visible from above).

PLEASE NOTE: Vintage and antique dishes were often decorated with glazes containing varying amounts of lead, a toxic chemical. If you have a concern, please research before purchasing. To minimize exposure to lead when using vintage dinnerware, please observe the following precautions: use infrequently; do not expose to high heat, including microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers; avoid contact with acidic foods & liquids, especially if cracked or crazed (slight crackling of the clear overglaze); do not use to store food or liquids; hand wash with a gentle detergent soon after use and allow to air dry.
