Fantastic Casanova y Estorach image of an old friar playing cards with a young maid. Entitled "Always the King" in French (a double entendre). This is a cheeky little print made in Paris. As far as I can tell, this is the only such image on the internet, so it should be considered rare. Research does show that listed Spanish artist Estorach did produce this image while living in France.

Signed in the print with the date 1882. It's not clear to me what type of printing process was used to produce this French print, however I believe it is either a collotype or an example of photo lithography. On the reverse, are fragments of a label from London framemaker and gilder C. Dingley who was located on 75 Golders Green Rd. N.W. 11.7 at The Arcade on Liverpool St. Frame is black painted wood with considerable wear. Matte also shows signs of oxidation and foxing. Print itself seems to be in good condition with coloration consistent with an 1800's print and some small areas of foxing.
