Whilst exploring in my favourite fibre suppliers, I found this unusual blend of 20% possum and 80% merino fibre. Like a child in a sweetie shop, I had to get it and try to spin it - just because I have never seen it before.

Both fibres are natural colours. The merino gives the yarn a wonderful springy/ squishy texture and the possum gives the blend a darker colour and a more distinct halo. The final colour is a light fawn.

I spun the blend up into singles on my Kromski spinning wheel and plyed the singles to give a balanced yarn.

Together the two hanks give 96g / 142m of aran weight yarn (9WPI)

The yarn was produced in a smoke free, dog friendly home.

142m of possum: superfine merino blend
