MERLE'S BOUQUET quilt pattern was originally designed for and featured in AQ Magazine!
Behind the design: When my neighbor, Miss Merle, is away from home, I would use her vintage watering can to water her flowers. When the editor at AQ asked me to design a pattern for their magazine, I went straight to Merle's front porch to make sketches of her vintage can.
With this pattern, you learn the nuances of value as you learn how to use BOTH sides of your fabrics, learning the technique for making ALL the #usebothsides patterns available here in the Creative Bee Studios shop!
You will learn to audition focus and background fabrics. The watering can and spout are made using the reverse of the focus fabric while Merle's bouquet and the binding are made using the front of the fabric.
