Tembo is the Swahili word for elephant.
This piece of glass was hand made in Romania. On it I have carved a large elephant protecting the baby of the herd. An acacia tree can be seen through on the back of the piece. It is a heavy piece that stands 11" tall x 7" wide.

Each piece is totally hand carved, therefore no two pieces are exactly alike. Each piece takes several hours to complete as no creams or sand blasting is used. The depth and detail can be both seen and felt particularly around the face, horns and muscle areas etc. (It is however extremely difficult to show this clearly on the photographs seen here.)
Each piece is signed on the back. My first name is Karen, my middle is Pearl and I sign using Pearl.
Pieces can be washed using warm soapy water and soft cloth. Dry well. Mugs are dish washer safe.

Thanks for stopping by.
