Circuit board tie - Microchip - SIR Test Board. We're super excited to print a limited run of ties printed from vintage circuit board patterns. This is our 5th in the series, no circuit bored here. (ha!) Yes, we swore over and over we wouldn't do this design, (as it's been done quite to death already), but when we came upon a truckload of really REALLY interesting vintage screens, all covered with schematics from the 60's, 70's and 80's, we just couldn't resist the serendipity any longer, considering our fascination with electronics history. The universe made us do it!

In the electronics manufacturing industry, "SIR testing" is a sensitive test method for evaluating component failure caused by shorts or current leakage. It is used to rate fluxes, board cleanliness and how these wee metal bits perform in humidity. Well fine sir, you may not need your tie to do that, but this is what the image did on your tie in its former life!

► Impress any nerdy guy or girl: computer scientist, programmer, electrician, engineer or maker. Is dad, grandpa, boyfriend or husband a tinkerer with solder and blinky things? Perfect for groomsmen and brides boys of the geeky persuasion. Nerd power!

This print extends high up on the tie, approx. 17" (43cm) from the bottom point; perfect to peek out from under a vest or jacket.

LIMITED EDITION! As is the nature of vintage screens, once these screens die, that's it. (Not knowing the emulsion it was made with, they might hold up for a week, they might last for years!)
