Important Note for Southern Gardeners:
Everglades Tomatoes are heat-loving survivors, but the seeds are smart! If your soil temperature is consistently above 85°F (typical in FL/Deep South summers), the seeds may enter "thermal dormancy" and refuse to sprout until the weather cools.

If you are ordering during the summer months, please:

Store them in a cool, dry place until night temperatures drop below 72°F.

Germinate indoors in air conditioning if you want an early start.

Be patient. These seeds are likely waiting for the perfect "Fall" trigger to wake up!



These Everglades Tomato seeds grow a very hardy and very tasty cherry tomato. They require little care after the seedlings start to grow, but in extremely hot conditions, avoid full sun after planting. Transplant and mulch when they are a few inches tall. Only need occasional water and fertilizer unless it's very hot and dry, in which case, water every other day. They can be grown year round here in Southwest Florida, and similar climates, but will not germinate in the summer outdoors. Can withstand extreme heat as well as cool temperatures once established. These seeds come from my garden where they are grown in pots, and grow wild. However, they can be grown in many different soil types and conditions and will sometimes grow on their own about anywhere if their seeds get dispersed.

Plant seeds just barely under the surface of regular potting soil outside when temperatures are warm. They might not germinate if the soil is not warm enough. Keep soil moist, but not waterlogged. Once grown out, an individual plant should produce tomatoes for several months.
