This cunning antique oak puzzle box, made to hold Singer sewing machine attachments and patented in 1889, has hinged sides and rolls out and lies flat to reveal its contents. I've added some attachments from another set--a few are missing, but the ones remaining fit neatly under numbered hardware that is nailed to the box. The box still has its brown velvet lining and a simple metal clasp that clicks securely shut, turning this into a lovely piece for display or a collection.

The yellow oak wood on this box shows its age with a beautiful patina and much of the varnish remaining. Stamped on one side is Patented February 19 1889. The lining inside is worn and coming up in a few places.

Size: 6 1/2 x 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 inches (16.5 x 8.6 x 8.6 cm)

Note: The little statue is not included.
