London has been on my mind lately and images of it have been all over my art table. This listing is for one card with an original London Illustration on the front. We can see a black Mini Cooper zipping along in a traffic-filled street as it makes it way to some mod little party. In the back we can make out the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral and a potpourri of other buildings, (churches, town houses, shops, and department stores). This card comes with a bright red envelope as seen in the photos. The cards measures 7" across and 5.25" inches high.

I tried to make London look like a sepia toned photograph. I only added light layers of tan and gray to the buildings furthest back. The vehicles in the middle section received light color washes with reds, blues, and grays. (Primary colors always make me think of the 1960's.) My final step was to add hand-painted white gouache details to the lightest tones of the illustration. This is a trick I often employ to bring the viewers eye to the foreground and to make something stand out from the natural tones.

The back of the card has a tiny illustration of the official London Dragon marking the town boarder on Fleet Street. He cries out, "London!" for those who might not recognize the city at first glance.

The original illustration was created on scratch board and scanned into my computer. I then add light layers of color and it is finally printed out on recycled, heavy weight craft paper. This card is blank on the inside and would be a perfect card for correspondence or for any special occasion. The card has been signed on the back, just below the dragon.

Thanks for checking out my listing. Cheers!
