Roman articulated doll, handmade with ceramic, inspired by an original found in Paleochristian necropolis of Tarraco (Tarragona). National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona (Spain).

This doll (the original) was found in 1927 inside the sarcophagus of a girl of about five years of age in the Paleochristian necropolis of Tarragona (Tarraco). The original was made of ivory and was also articulated. According to the hairstyle, we can establish the dating, as in other pieces such as sculpture, portraits, etc., because women's fashion and hairstyle were inspired by the empress. The same applied to male hair fashion, in this case, inspired by the emperor. According to her hair, the doll was made between the III-IV centuries AC. The original doll can be seen in the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona.

Ceramic and wire, completely handcrafted.

Measures:

Large: 25 cm
Width: 10 cm
Depth: 3 cm
