Stratoware Eva Zeisel Collection / Rare 1942 Kitchen and Tableware Set of Nine

A Smart Hostess knows when to keep quiet and let the beauty of a piece speak for itself . . .

This Eva Zeisel designed Stratoware nine-piece collection includes creamer and sugar with lid (mint condition), salt and pepper shakers (mint condition), and five tea cups (excellent condition).

This rare line of kitchen and tableware, designed by Eva Zeisel, was commissioned and sold through Sears and Roebuck mail order in 1942 for a little more than a year only. It was named “Stratoware” after the new TWA Stratoliner airplane, to evoke the most modern and up-to-date lifestyle. For more information on Eva Zeisel, visit: www.evazeisel.org

The creamer and sugar, salt and pepper shakers are perfect examples of the mid-century modern streamline style and are in original mint condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Both the salt and pepper shakers have their original cork stoppers, but they have been pushed inside the bodies of the shakers. The bottom of the creamer and sugar are marked: “Stratoware made in USA.”

The tea cups are in excellent condition: one tea cup has one “extremely” minor craze spot under the handle and what might be either a very small (1/16”) chip or manufacturing mark on the lip near the handle, both not very noticeable. One other tea cup has some minor crazing around the foot ring; even with these very minor issues, all five tea cups are in excellent condition. Overall, this incredible and rare Stratoware collection is in museum quality condition.

Sugar: 2 1/2" x 4” x 4 3/4” to top of lid.
Creamer: 2 1/4” x 3 5/8" x 4 7/8” tall.
Salt and Pepper: 1 5/8” x 2” x 3 3/4” tall.
Cups: 4” across x 2 3/16 high and hold 8 oz. to the rim.

Priced as a set of nine, but will consider selling separately.
