The story: The costume hat was found in an attic near Virginia Beach. It was a Shakespearean Theater Company where aspiring actors and actresses gathered for a six week period to learn the trade. The owner of the company wanted to purge the attic and let the actresses take a piece of the theater company home. My friend chose this hat. She danced with this hat on. Wore tights. Pretended she was a movie star. There was no stopping her then.

The facts: You are viewing a H.M.S. Falcon Theatrical Costume Hat from my personal hat collection in the 1970's. The hat is made of a rain proof material resembling a plastic coating though it gives the appearance of fabric. The black band has faded gold letters H.M.S. Falcon and a black bow on one side. The top is aged, soiled from years of hanging, and charming. The fabric ribbon that hangs under the chin is tattered, worn and hanging with a safety pin. Though the actual size is unknown the hat opening is 9" x 6".
