Prestigious Japanese weaving house, Tatsumura Textile Co., recreates in this "Tsuzure-Ori" (= tapestry weave) pattern of a 16th-century Persian brocade worn by the Japanese feudal lord, Hideyoshi Toyotomi (1536-98 CE). The resulting scarf presents brightly colored peacocks, lions, and other animals. A nearly identical pattern is found in Baron Tessin's rug (Hague, Holland).

Original wooden gift box included with information cards in both English and Japanese. Can be framed as a wall decoration.
