This is a really lovely vintage 1917 silvertone Melba powder, rouge and mirror compact.

The piece is in great condition, and has the lilac patina in the pattern that is so well known to Melba compacts.

Normally we see the gold compacts, this is the first silver tone double compact that opens from the top and bottom that we have ever seen.

The top half has a clear mirror and powder cake, and the bottom half has the beautiful rouge compartment with rouge puff.

The powder plate holder is hallmarked August 14, 1917, as well as the Melba hallmark on the bottom of the compact.

This piece measures approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter, and is about 7/8 of an inch in thickness.

The hinges and closures work perfectly, and the piece only show very minimal wear. It displays beautifully, and is quite the unique piece to add to your collection.

Please consider checking our extremely large selection of vintage compacts. With over 200 to choose from, you are bound to find the perfect piece.
