Ordinary Time Wreath, Liturgical Living Collection
Materials: split wood balls, ribbon, artificial flowers
Diameter: 6.5 inches
This wreath is meant to help you celebrate the liturgical season of Ordinary Time. Designated as the short time after Christmas and before Lent, and the time between Easter and Advent, Ordinary Time isn't given much excitement or special decoration. However, that doesn't mean that we should lose focus or that we shouldn't find an opportunity to bring something meaningful and symbolic into our homes, the domestic church.
I designed this wreath with soft artificial lamb's ears to represent the true Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. On top of those is a single dogwood blossom. There is a legend that says the wood from the dogwood tree is what held up our crucified Lord. The blossoms have four petals in the shape of a cross. It is hung with a green satin ribbon since that is the liturgical color of the season. The ribbon is not permanently attached in case you would rather hang or display the wreath a different way.
The wreath measures approximately 6.5" across (not including the overhanging leaves or the length of the ribbon when hanging). *The size of the dogwood flowers may vary on each wreath (from 2.5"-3.5" in diameter).
This wreath is part of the Liturgical Living Wreath Collection - a collection of wreaths designed to celebrate the different seasons of the Church's liturgical calendar year: Lent, Easter, Advent, Christmas, and Ordinary Time. Each wreath comes with a description card explaining the significance of the season and the reasons behind my choice in symbolic decoration. Be sure to check out the other ones in the collection!
It is best to store your wreath in the original packaging, or something similar, to keep anything from crushing it.
