This is a great Egyptian Revival necklace. The patina is even and a rich warm color. I am sure you could polish it up but I believe it's beautiful the way it is. The main piece of the pendant has outstreched wings of a scarab beetle in flight. The extended wings measure 2" across.

The beetle has his from legs leading the way and forming a triangle protecting his head. The wings and body are very detailed. From the insect's body are segmented legs that hold and carry along a second scarab beetle. This beetle is made of green iridescent art glass. The body has tiny raised bumps just like the real thing and probably the most suprising detail is on the back side of the scarab. The actual glass beetle has small legs formed on the underside that make it look very real.

The pendant measures 2" in across by 21/2" in length.

This is not a new necklace made from vintage pieces. This is truly a vintage necklace and in very good condition and almost impossible to find.
