The best way to keep your jewelry looking fresh and to resist tarnish is to keep it away from chemicals and the air. I always keep my jewelry in an airtight plastic bag when I'm not wearing it. The kind you can easily get at the grocery store.
When you're getting ready, always put on your make-up and perfume first. Put your jewelry on last so you don't get anything sprayed or smeared on it.
If your jewelry needs cleaning, gently wipe it with a damp cloth first. Avoid putting any stones into chemical cleaners. Also avoid polishing plated gold or silver jewelry as rubbing it can damage the plating. Only polish sterling silver.
