This is a ca 1950s wooden chair designed by Norman Cherner and produced by Plycraft. The chair has a very sexy form with stiletto legs. This version is unusual. The black padded vinyl covers the entire body of the chair, front and back with a full length zipper on the back. The legs are painted black, so you get a very sleek completely black chair. 2 white chairs made this way but with arms, appear in the Spring 2011 issue of Modernism magazine. This has its original see through glides.

The vinyl cover has a 3/4" split at one top corner and a couple nicks at the top. The zipper is no longer functional and is sewn together. The padding is not hardened and the chair is structurally sound. Overall the chair is very attractive and other than the minor issues listed it is intact.

Please note: We do not know the condition of the chair under the cover. The cover was sewn up when we bought it and we have not tried to open it up to look at it.

Chair is 32 inches high x 17 inches deep x 17 inches wide.
