This is a user manual for the Hoover 0307 electric washing machine from the late 1940s. Launched in 1948, the 0307 model was Hoover's first ever washing machine.

The 30 page booklet contains instructions for use and page after page of tips and hints on how to wash various different types of fabric, starching, stain removal, drying, ironing, etc. Best of all are the beautiful black and white photographs of a 1940s homemaker enjoying this new convenience.

The book has sustained some water damage which affects the first twelve pages with some staining and rippling, plus surface tears to the corner of four pages. The 2nd and 5th photo are from this section of the book so please inspect images carefully. The water damaged pages are still completely readable. The remainder of the book is in quite good condition with just a few age-related marks here and there. I think this had been stored in a dirty environment but I've wiped all pages and it has come up quite well.

Measures 6½ x 8 inches.

A great piece for collectors of vintage advertising and ephemera or for the lucky owner of a Hoover 0307!
