I used Red Heart Super Saver - Ombre - Violet in the shawl pictured, and 'I Love This Yarn' white with silver strand through it in the other photo shown, but any medium worsted weight yarn will work.

The written instructions were difficult to read and can get confusing for a beginner. The charts were easier to understand and made more sense. If this is your first filet crochet project, I wouldn’t recommend. The PDF itself was easy to download and the format was overall great.
