This plant is offspring from an heirloom Jade plant that has been in my family for three generations. Started in the 1940's by my grandmother, that original plant is over 70 years old now and has been the start of hundreds of seedlings.

Because of the lineage, these are more than just another houseplant. These seedlings represent a living tradition. They give us something to look at and care for even if we might not see each other as often as we'd like. They remind us that we are connected by life and they help us celebrate that living connection.

Jade plants are long living, easy to care for and easy to root. With basic care, you new little tree should grow large and strong, and from it you too will have offspring plants to pass along to those who are important to you.

Each Family Tree seedling comes with a registry number that records it among the community of plants that have been grown from my grandmother's original plant. Tracing the roots of her plant, so to speak. Currently, there are over 275 plants in the registry! Anything you root from your plant will be eligible for addition to the registry also, thereby keeping track of your own Family Tree and its roots over time.

Each kit contains one seedling, 3.5" terra cotta pot with soil, growing and pruning instructions, registration card and lifetime care advice.

Living Family Tree - Start a branch kit comes with registered seedling.
