This wood and meteorite ring is really very striking. The contrast between the Box Elder Burl and the Gibeon Meteorite is just fabulous. The combination of these 2 amazing materials is a great symbol for ever lasting love and endurance, perfect for matching wedding bands.

Gibeon meteorites are known for their incomparable stability and beauty. Amazing to think that this meteorite entered our atmosphere at a velocity of 17 miles per second around 30000 years ago. It exploded high in the atmosphere showering fragments over a large region in Africa. Previous to that, the meteorite traveled through space for over 4 billion years.

The beautiful crystalline patterns within the Gibeon meteorites are known as Widmanstatten patterns and are unique to meteorites. These patterns only appear after millions of years of cooling down. There is literally nothing else on earth that has these characteristics and this is what makes this ring so incredibly special. Imagine telling the story behind it as you give this wonderful gift.

Box Elder is the wood and Burl describes a condition where the wood has become knotted and contorted within the tree giving it these amazing characteristics. Box Elder trees are in fact a lightly colored maple.

°°°This listing is for just one ring but please ask me about making a matching one for either bride or groom.

>The wood and meteorite inlay is entirely seamless, there are absolutely NO JOINTS.

***Meteorites are almost never "perfect". Please expect that there might be small imperfections/marks/inclusions visible in the meteorite. Their imperfection makes them unique and beautiful. Meteorites are formed as they travel through space and millions of years later they may land on earth. IF you prefer A PERFECT METEORITE, please leave a note for me in the "Message to Seller" box during checkout as there will be an additional cost of $300 which will be requested via Paypal invoice.
