Beehive Awning™ - from Old Greenwich Honey, LLC

The "Beehive Awning™ " is a Langstroth hive landing board shield. It was created by a beekeeper for beekeepers and bees. It's name tells it all. A very durable white powder coated steel landing board shield with steel screws to be used on Langstroth beehives, 8 or 10 frame hives. The Beehive Awning™ keeps the bees landing board and entrance clear of rain, snow, ice and debris. It also cools down temperatures on the landing board and in the hive slowing down "bearding" in hot summer months.

Most important is hive circulation. In the winter if the entrance is closed by snow or ice, condensation can build up in the hive. Water droplets form on the inner cover, cooled by outside temperatures then drops down on the honey bees, freezing them.

I use the Beehive Awning on all my hives and find my bees to be calmer and happier with it!
