Really dry skin? This is what you need... It's almost like applying lotion at the same time that you wash.

Modern soap makers are able to calculate exactly how much lye is needed to saponify oils (or turn them to soap) very precisely. I can adjust the ratio of lye to oils to create a desired strength or mildness, unlike old time soap makers who had to guess at quantities and sometimes created soap so strong that it burned. The more extra oil, or "superfat" as we call it, soap has, the more gentle it is. All of my soaps have a little extra oil in them, but in Avocado Rose, I use the maximum amount of oil that lye can transform into soap without separating, leaving plenty of extra oil that moisturizes your skin to the point that it's like applying lotion at the same time. I use this soap on my dry face during the winter when our wood stove is working hard to make our cozy log cabin as dry as the Arizona desert.

Each bar has real avocados and avocado oil, and the goat milk is infused with rose petals (which are great for your skin). The scent is delicate and delicious from Egyptian Rose Geranium and Rosemary essential oils, which are stimulating to the skin. (I now have an unscented version for people whose noses or skin are so sensitive they can't have the essential oils.) Its lather is like rubbing a velvet robe on yourself. I recommend it as a facial bar, but if you have dry skin elsewhere, use it as a hand and body bar. Goat milk soaps make your skin soft because of the minerals and vitamins that water based soaps lack, and home made soap retains moisturizing glycerin that commercial manufacturers remove and sell at a higher price separate from the soap.

approximately 4.25 oz. Photos with bows are shown gift wrapped.

A note about my new system of labeling soap: I am a full time mother, wife, gardener, goat- chicken- and beekeeper, and active member of my church and community. I was getting seriously squeezed for time, to the point that I was considering giving up my soap business--which I really didn't want to do! My husband and my mom helped me brainstorm ways that I could streamline my soap making process without sacrificing the quality of the product or customer service. Getting rid of hand tied bows was at the top of everybody's list. I love the bows and still offer them as an extra option, but the truth is, they are purely aesthetic. I have switched to sticker labels and am loving the time that not tying hundreds of bows has freed up!

ingredients: Olive oil, rose petal infused goat milk, avocado oil, coconut oil, organic palm oil, lye, organic avocados, Egyptian rose geranium and rosemary essential oils, French pink clay.

My soaps are real soap, made from scratch using the cold-process method of combining fats with lye, not the melt-and-pour type. Notice that all of my ingredients are ones that you recognize, no chemicals that make you wonder what they are or what they do to you! I use many organic ingredients, including organic palm oil. Each bar is unique, hand cut, and hand wrapped. My soap lasts a long time as long as you take care to let it dry out between uses.

About shipping: For customers in the US, I can often save you money on shipping orders of 4 or more bars if you ask me to create a custom listing for you. For international customers, it usually works out that the lowest price I can give you is what you would automatically be charged if you buy items individually. However, it you are buying a variety of types of products, such as bars of soap plus body butter, it might be worth asking me if I can save you on shipping fees with a custom listing.

Each person's skin has its own likes and dislikes, and it's hard to say which will be the best soap for people with sensitive skin. If you would like to try a selection of my soaps to determine which is best for your skin, I am happy to sell you a collection of samples for the cost of listing, packaging and shipping. Just contact me, I'm here to help!
