This listing is for a piece from my “Homestead” series. The idea for the series stemmed from the ever-changing landscape of Central Valley. What once was an agricultural area peppered with homesteads or individual farms, now has become more industrialized by large scale farming and also encountered a rapid urban sprawl during the years of recent housing bubble. The nostalgia for bygone era of homesteads and more individualized landscape inspired this piece. Environment and our interactions with it are very important to me, thus, it has become a reoccurring theme in my work.

This listing offers a single recycled fence wooden panel with four ceramic tiles individually hung on it. The panel measures roughly 27 x 6 ½”, each tile is approximately 5 ¼ x 3 ½”. Tiles are made of earthenware (low fire clay) and treated with multiple coats of underglazes, colored clay slips, glaze/oxide washes and silkscreened text. The tiles you’ll receive may or may not be the exact ones depicted in the image, however, all of them were produced at the same time, so they will be very similar.
