This original pencil drawing is Denver Diptych. It is derived from two Denver, Colorado mugshots one from 1951 the other, 1948. I often wonder what became of people in mugshots - did they straighten their lives out or were they lost to a life of crime? These two, if they are still alive would be old men...how did their lives turn out?

This piece is from my "Just a Number" series. These are derived from vintage mugshots or prison ID photos. I find the people in these photos, often identified only by a number, intriguing because they serve to remind us of our humanity, frailty, and need for redemption. We are all more than just a number.

The image size of each portrait is approx. 4 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches on a 14 x 17 inch piece of Bristol Board. Watermark does not appear on drawing.

The artwork is sealed with fixative. It is signed and dated on the back and ships to you in an acid-free plastic sleeve sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard.

The artist retains all copyright privileges and protections. Sale of artwork does not transfer copyright.
