This is a very, very early rotary shield from a horse drawn cultivator probably from the mid-1800's. Did my best to locate more research information but the internet gets difficult when looking for photos from the 1800's. I have owned this item for at least 30 years and bought it from an elderly antiques dealer (she was born in a log cabin) in Door County Wisconsin. At the time she called it a "daisy wheel" which might have been the local farm term. My local farmer friend had not seen this before and they do not seem to be easily obtained, so I am going to say this is a rare item.

It makes a great design punch on a rustic wall, hanging from a beam, or propped on the floor.

Dimensions: 17 3/4" x 1 1/8" depth thru hub center
3/16" rod diameter
