Historical Huntsvile Alabama
Huntsville was the first settlement in Mississippi Territory, with the largest population in the Territory. It was FIRST in the following:Capital of the State, Congressman, Newspaper, Bank, Land Office,Cotton Gin,Cotton Mill,and Masonic Lodge. The main attraction is the largest natural spring in the world with a 24,000,000 gallon flow per day. The first public water works with cedar pipes was established here. John Hunt in 1804 discovered the spring, thus the name Huntsville.
