I so love collecting treasures from the beach. Tiny pebbles and smoothed pottery pieces are my favorite.

Making these necklaces, I try to combine crochet with my finds. I choose natural fibers as I think they suit this project perfectly. I first cover a part of the pebble or pottery piece using a tiny crochet hook (0,85 in the metric system) and a very thin linen yarn - pure linen with a good natural sheen. I crochet a loop on the back using the same linen yarn. Then I crochet a thick cord using a quality cotton yarn with a tiny hook again, a different size depending on the brand. I make this by crocheting on the round for endless rows till I get the desired length. The cord is empty inside, which makes it very light and flexible.

I make two different sizes of cords, the first wraps around the neck once and the longer one wraps twice.
I make combinations according to my taste but I surely would like to hear from you if you want a different pair, different color in the pebble or the cord.
The pebble and pottery can easily be removed if you want to wear the cotton cord all by itself. This necklace can also be worn as a bracelet if you loop the cord more than once around your wrist!

This listing is for a beige (the color of sand) cord, about 39cm long and the embellishment shown in the photos in colors of white and blue.
