The charms on this bracelet spell the word "SCIENCE" using amino acids.

Life is coded in the amino acids, which make up proteins. People have 20 different amino acids, each of which has been given a one-letter code as shorthand. So, you can make strings of amino acids that spell things! I've done just that, fashioning the amino acids' chemical shapes in sterling silver, so they can be used as an alphabet to spell words or names.

This bracelet spells "SCIENCE" using the amino acids S=serine, C=cysteine, I=isoleusine, E=glutamate, and N=asparagine.

Other names and words are available for special order; please inquire. (Letters currently available: A C E F G I K L M N P Q S T V Y )

The bracelet is sterling silver, 7.5 inches long, and closes with a lobster clasp. I can make the bracelet longer or shorter, just let me know when you order.

It comes in a pretty recycled gift box with an amino acid letter code key. So, you could *tell* a gift recipient what word it is, or let her\/him puzzle it out!

Please note: this bracelet is make-to-order and will be shipped about 1 week after ordering.
