The words “Lady in Red” have inspired songs, films, cartoons, fictional characters and, now, a yarn. This is a luscious color…the color of 1930’s “rosebud mouth” lipstick. Think Joan Crawford and Betty Davis; think Chinese red. The roving was processed and dyed in the UK and has the faintest heather to it---almost too small to see, but it adds depth to the color.

These two skeins, with a total weight of 8.6 oz., spun at an average of 1400 ypp (yards per pound), are DK weight and wraps at about 12-14. The total yardage for the two skeins is 740 yards. Merino is legendary for its softness and this skein is true to form, a very soft yarn.

See my Store Policy FAQs section for further knitting gauge suggestions for various yard weights, a bit about sheep breeds and yarn softness and care instructions for different fibers.

My skeins are wound on a full 2-yard niddy-noddy. If you don’t have a large swift, let me know. Spun in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home.
