Rubber Boots, Vintage Deadstock, from JunqueGypsy.Etsy.com
One pair of these are being used in a NYC production of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," and another pair is part of a costume in another Dickens' production at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. THIS IS THE LAST PAIR FROM THE BOX OF DEADSTOCK BOOTS.

These are very cool! From the deadstock of a department store which was open in the 1940's, boxes and boxes of various styles and sizes of black gum rubber overshoes, made in USA, were found in a small town main street building about to be remodeled. Gum rubber is not even used in today's production of poly-plastic boots.

This listing is for a pair of youth or small woman's pull-on black rubber overshoes. Closure is front fold over with two metal black snaps. Inside is soft green flannel lining. Soft and pliable black rubber, these have never been worn and were still in the original box with tissue paper.

Bottom is marked MADE IN USA size 1.5, with a logo saying Tyer, est 1856, Andover, Mass, USA A size 6 women's shoe fits inside these. Or, you could wear them without shoes to slog around in the spring rains and mud; many women have ordered them to wear in this manner, without shoes.

Measurements: 9.75 in long, 3.25 in wide, measured with tape measure on bottom of sole. I have several pairs of this flat bottomed, snap side, style in this size.

Sizing: PLEASE MEASURE YOUR FOOT! These are small!
To ensure a good fit, I recommend the following:
With a light thin sock, stand on a piece of paper and trace around your foot (make sure the pencil is vertical) then with a measuring tape or ruler measure your foot length from the tip of your big toe to the back of your heel and across the ball.

I also have a big box of mismatched singles, flats and heels. These would make great props. Figured I'd eventually list the singles for decorator or altered art purposes. Contact me if you are interested in that possibility.
