This is a serving platter that dates back to the mid 1900's. It is beautifully adorned with a wheat and floral motif in light orange, muted yellows, lilacs, sage green, and a wheat color for the actual wheat depicted on the platter. It is also trimmed with gold and the same gold is also in the motif itself. This was a special dish back in the day and you can tell that it was used to present many a delicious meal on. There are four little chips on the underside of the plate rim, as shown in picture #5. I feel that it lets you know that this dish didn't just sit around looking pretty! It was actually appreciated at meals when families used to sit together at the table and share their day........something that is quite rare these days. I feel it has a feeling of autumn and would fit in with the Fall and Thanksgiving Holidays. Measuring a little over 12" in diameter, it can hold a nice sized turkey!

I recently found out that many many years ago, this Platter was given out as a gift at the theatre.
