When I went on a trip to Germany two summer's ago, I saw lots of items with spotted toadstools. Since then, I've loved these cute fungi. The tops are glazed with red and white and the stems are white.

These mushrooms are made from a stoneware clay and are suitable for outdoor use until temperatures go below freezing. They can withstand moisture and can safely be placed in planters that get daily watering.

I've worked with clay much of my life and I recently discovered a love for slip casting. Many of the molded pieces I make are from vintage molds from the 1960s to 1980s. I love the process because I love opening presents and each time I open a mold it is like opening a present. After thoroughly cleaning each piece, they are bisque fired to cone 04 and glaze fired at cone 5.
