One of my favorites- the Clyde pint mason jar with dimensional script logo, made by the Clyde Glass Works circa 1895. Clyde was one of dozens of companies at the end of the 19th century that produced glass jars for putting food up.

This jar is very sound, with beautiful script, a well-functioning though rusty bail, and minor chips to the rim.

A little history: In 1871, for a brief period, John Mason of Philadelphia (who invented the first glass canning jar in 1858) became a partner in the Consolidated Fruit Jar Company. Consolidated hired other many glass makers to blow their jars, including the Clyde Glass Works, Clyde, New York.
