This is a hard to find piece of pottery made by a rare California pottery maker, Marti Hollywood. Martin Deutsch, was the designer and maker of vase, headvases for the florists industry and TV lamps. Depicts a child - boy or girl - with a berry basket over his/her shoulder and a sweet sideways glance. Beautiful pastel colored glazes that are fired on. Marked on the bottom 'Marti Hollywood' 'B - 259'.

Measures 5 1/2 inches high by 5 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches deep.

Condition is good for age and use. It is fairly 'chippy' - mostly on the top of the hair area. There is a shrink crack in the basket with faint hairline coming from it but it is not showing through to outside, not unstable. It has crazing which is usual for this pottery. There are a few glaze pindots, one on cheek, and the lips and eyebrow have tiny chippies. Very clean. This is a thick, heavy kind of pottery, not thin. No other chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, stains or odors.
